What is Kundalini Yoga?
Kundalini yoga is the oldest of all yogas… they say. It’s also said to come from the teachings of the people of Atlantis! If you think that Atlantis is a myth, I suggest you read Plato! We know about Atlantis actually thanks to him and modern science has recently discovered a sunk civilization in the Antarctic suspected to be Atlantis itself! Isn’t that cool?!?
To quote EmergingScience.org, Kundalini isn’t just “Kundalini Yoga,” as most people know it by — “it actually represents the biological basis of all spiritual experiences and the force driving the evolution of humanity”.
It’s creator, famous Yogi Bhajan, described Kundalini yoga as “the science to unite the finite with Infinity, and the art to experience Infinity in the finite.”
Kundalini Yoga was kept very secret until 1969 when Yogi Bhajan taught it openly in order to prepare humanity for the major changes that this planet is going through as we cross from the Piscean to the Aquarian Age.
The Kundalini Research Institute defines the primary objective of Kundalini as that to awaken the full potential of human awareness in each individual; that is, to recognize our awareness, refine that awareness, and expand that awareness to our unlimited Self. Clear any inner duality, create the power to deeply listen, cultivate inner stillness, and prosper and deliver excellence in all that we do”.
In my own words, Kundalini yoga is a series of kriyas (methaphysical movements combined with the Breath of Fire and a meditative awareness at the mind) that help to balance the flow of prana (life-force) in the centers of vital-force in the energetic body of the human being: the chakras & the nadis (vortices and conduits of psycho-somatic force that run through our bodies but that we don’t know how to use to our own advantage).
Kundaliny yoga awakens the Kundalini Shakti, or full human potential for all manifestation of skills, abilities, dreams, and super-natural powers latent within each one of us, but dormant, while we’re here having this experience of life on Earth! It’s a type of yoga that is very esoteric and very meditative. It is indeed very interesting and very therapeutic too, as it places great emphasis on breathing sharply through the nose while moving the spine in various ways, or the joints of the body. Amazing amounts of tension and fatigue are released with this type of meditation in movement.
Come along! Give us a go! It’s open to all levels of practice including beginners.
